'We're no moneybags club,' says Bucks today, responding to the perception elsewhere in the league that the Gulls are a club with money to burn.
In Friday's Herald Express he tells David Thomas of his frustration at the way Torquay are seen by their rivals.
The story is at www.thisissouthdevon.co.uk, too.
Meanwhile, over at www.torquayunited.com Kevin Nicholson has been talking about his experience as part of the England C set-up on the post-season tour.

LET THERE BE LIGHT!
THE Plainmoor floodlights - if you wonder how dim they really are, just ask one of our photographers - are finally being upgraded.
Local firm Sports Lighting - fans of course - are bringing them up to Championship standards.
And Paul Compton has been talking about his plans for the future with the new youth squad.
Comps admits he can be a tough taskmaster, but says it all pays off in the long run.

Happy Birthday Hockers! It's Matt's birthday today, according to my 2008 Gulls calendar.

KEEPER DEAL?
Peterborough keeper Shwan Jalal is being linked with a move to the Gulls.
However, reports coming from Peterborough that Jalal's move is a done deal appear to be wide of the mark.
Bucks isn't commenting on the stories, but we understand there is still a good deal of negotiation ahead before anything is decided.
Still, Iraqi-born Jalal is a decent keeper and Bucks did try to get him on loan midway through last season.
Meanwhile, our pirate of the Caribbean is on his way back with cheers ringing in his ears. Nicko played in England C's 2-0 win over Barbados, completing an unbeaten end of season tour for the team. Goals came from Halifax Town's Jon Shaw and Kidderminster's Russell Penn.
All the details in Wednesday's Herald Express and at www.thisissouthdevon.co.uk

While we're naming names, here are the 10 lads who have joined the new youth scheme.
Remember the names, because they could be stars of the future, and they'll have learned all they know right here at Plainmoor.
Step forward Ryan Beattie, Jordan Charran, Grant Fisher, Rob Hemming, Cameron Kelly, Nick Milton, Ed Palmer, Joe Pryse, Richard Westcott and Ashley Yeoman.
Ryan and Cameron are the sons of ex-Gulls, their dads being Bradley Beattie and Tom Kelly.

BUSY, BUSY, BUSY...
I go away for a few days and all hell breaks loose...
Three new signings, the return of the youth scheme and the continuing success of Nicko in the Caribbean.
Take a deep breath, here goes:
- Cardiff City striker Matt Green is the latest addition to the squad. Green, 21, is a former England schools international and has joined on a two-year deal. He played six times as sub for the Bluebirds last season and had loan spells at Darlington and Oxford, for whom he gave us a bit of a torrid time in the league match at Plainmoor in April.
- York City midfielder Nicky Wroe, 22, signs on a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
- Wayne Carlisle signs on the dotted line, having been out of contract at Exeter. The 28-year-old former Northern Ireland Under-21 international put three past us last season, including one in each of the play-off semi matches.
- Ten youth trainees are signed and an under-18 team entered in the SW Youth Alliance League after the return of a fully-fledge youth scheme at long last. Sponsors City Link Builders are heavily behind the project and Paul Compton is back at the club as joint manager of the scheme. Colin Lee said: "It's a fantastic day for Torquay United."
- Kevin Nicholson played the full 90 minutes in the England C international in Grenada. The hosts took the lead in the first half but Steve Morison of Stevenage equalised in the second period and it finished 1-1.
- And Crawley are apparently having a good look at Simon Rayner.
