That's all, folks. A good run out with some good things happening. Poke played well, Sills got a good goal and 1,410 were there to see it.

THE DEAL IS DONE!
Michael Poke is a Gulls player at last.
He's here on a season-long loan and will play against the Gas tomorrow.
There ends the most protracted will-he-won't-he saga of the summer, and with it we have a cracking keeper.
Good news all round.
And we haven't even mentioned the new blue and yellow goal-nets yet!
See you at the Stadium of Dreams tomorrow, bloggers!

YER TIZ....
It's the new away shirt, complete with the logo of new club sponsors CityLink Builders, modelled by - in descending height order - Messrs Sills, Hargreaves and Wroe. The shirts were unveiled at a highly successful sporting dinner at Plainmoor last night, at which ex-Burnley ace Steve Kindon was absolutely brilliant.
The food in the new Number 10s dining area at Plainmoor wasn't half bad, either, with special mention for the veggie option! Highly recommended.
On the field, it looks as if Elliot Benyon will get a start against the Gas tomorrow after getting four against Newton Abbot in midweek. Kick-off is at 3pm. See you there, bloggers!

Look at the squad list on the right and you will see that the words 'Michael' and 'Poke' are still not on it.
However, the indications are that the Southampton keeper could finally be in the side in time for Saturday's match against the Gas at Plainmoor.
The Gulls youth team turned in an encouraging performance in their first match yesterday. Although they lost 2-5 to Bristol Rovers, there was plenty to admire, according to our man at the racecourse. Rob Hemmings and Didier Neza were our scorers. Well done, lads.

NEWTON ABBOT 0 GULLS 7
Elliot Benyon enhanced his reputation as a clinical finisher with four goals in last night’s 7-0 friendly victory over Newton Abbot at Coach Road.
Benyon – who had already brushed home United’s eighth minute opener from close range – struck again in the 54th, 57th and 60th minutes.
Newton Abbot battled for all they worth but the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League Premier side had no answer to a Torquay side fired up and raring to go from the off.
Lee Hodges scored twice and Tim Sills got the other goal.
Newton Abbot (4-4-2): B Abraham; J Payne, M Pritchard, R Farkins, L Woodruff, C Hutchinson, D Heath, M Bishop, T Comyn, H Carpanini, M Titchard.

BUSY WEEK FOR LAWRENCE
News today that Nikola Nicolic, the Serb winger, has gone back to FC Basle's reserve side for the time being.
It appears that there might be cash involved in the deal, and with Mustapha Carayol now on board, it could be that the left midfield slot is less of a priority now.
Now, concentrate on this bit. Lawrence Yiga is on trial at Plainmoor, and played for us at Tiverton on Saturday. Last night he played FOR Tiverton against Argyle. Tonight he will play for us against Newton Abbot.
Confused? You will be. But it's all part of Bucks' plan to have a proper look at Lawrence before making his mind up.
In Tuesday's Herald Express and at www.thisissouthdevon.co.uk you can read all about it, plus the latest on Michael Poke, ex-Gull John Gayle on his Newton Abbot team's hopes for tonight, news from the youth team and Dan Gosling's England outing.

Steve Woods is likely to start at Newton Abbot tomorrow, having recovered sufficiently from injury. Mustapha Carayol is also a certainty to get a game, having looked the business in training, apparently.
Roscoe is still out, though, with his shoulder problem although there are high hopes that he will make the start of the season.
Newton Abbot play at Coach Road, by the way. If approaching from Torquay, turn left at Penn Inn, climb the hill, cross the railway line and then turn left. The pitch is out on the road towards East Ogwell, and there is ample parking.

NEW SIGNING
MUSTAPHA Carayol from MK Dons has joined on a two-year deal.
The 19-year-old midfielder spent a loan spell at Crawley last season, and stood out in two games against us last year.
He's a bit of a speed king by all accounts, and was training with his new team-mates at the racecourse today. There's every chance he could get a start in tomorrow night's friendly at Newton Abbot.
The formation at Tiverton was interesting. With Rice in goal, we had Hargreaves and Todd at centre back with Lee Mansell and Lee Hodges the full-backs. Tyrone Thompson and Nicky Wroe anchored the midfield with Wayne Carlisle and Danny Stevens on the wings. Tim Sills and Matt Green played up front.
Elsewhere, ex-Gull Darren Mullings scored for Weston-super-Mare as they drew 1-1 with Exeter.
All the action and reaction from Saturday's game is in Monday's Herald Express and at www.thisissouthdevon.co.uk
