Kevin Nicholson, who played 64 games last season what with the BSP, the FA Cup, the Setanta thing, the FA Trophy and the small matter of an England tour, has been talking to DT about his appetite for the coming campaign.
And the Chris McPhee mystery has been cleared up. Ebbsfleet's Wembley wonder, anxious for a move back to the West Country, has signed for Weymouth. See you on Boxing Day, Chris!
News of an ex-Gull, too. Darren Moore, one of the nicest guys ever to pull on the gold and blue, has joined Barnsley.

SUMMER signings and existing squad members went through their paces at Newton Abbot racecourse yesterday for the first day of pre-season training.
Only Roscoe Dsane was absent, still recovering from surgery on his injured shoulder.
Paul Buckle will take the opportunity of an in-house practice match this weekend to run the rule over Jack Compton.
In Thursday's Herald Express and at www.thisissouthdevon.co.uk he explains how the search for a goalkeeper is still a priority, and gives his reaction to the fixture list.
Over at www.torquayunited.com you can bid for some of last year's first team shirts.
Elsewhere, Kaid Mohamed has completed a move from Swindon to Forest Green Rovers. Kaid looked tremendous at times during his loan spell with us last season, and could be a real boost for FGR.

SON OF COMPO

Jack Compton, son of ex-Gull and new youth team boss Paul, will be among the triallists hoping to impress when the squad gets back together for pre-season training at Newton Abbot racecourse tomorrow.
The 18-year-old left winger has been released by West Brom, but really caught the eye during a loan spell at Weymouth. One of his games there was a 0-0 draw with Torquay, and he also impressed during a Setanta televised game.

Y viva Espana, and all that - what a joy to see a victory for the kind of quick, expansive football we all knew they could play if they put their minds to it.
Quiet on the Gulls front today while the rest of the media catch up with the Herald Express and www.thisissouthdevon.co.uk exclusive on Simon Rayner from the weekend.
Good news for David Graham, meanwhile. The man who scored many of the goals that took us to promotion four years ago has been given a chance to resurrect his career at Lincoln City. The Scottish ace hasn't played a competitive game since leaving Gillingham in January, but Imps boss Peter Jackson hopes he can do a job at Sincil Bank in League Two.
Let's hope it works out for him.
