BUSY, BUSY, BUSY...

I go away for a few days and all hell breaks loose...

Three new signings, the return of the youth scheme and the continuing success of Nicko in the Caribbean.

Take a deep breath, here goes:

  • Cardiff City striker Matt Green is the latest addition to the squad. Green, 21, is a former England schools international and has joined on a two-year deal. He played six times as sub for the Bluebirds last season and had loan spells at Darlington and Oxford, for whom he gave us a bit of a torrid time in the league match at Plainmoor in April.

  • York City midfielder Nicky Wroe, 22, signs on a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

  • Wayne Carlisle signs on the dotted line, having been out of contract at Exeter. The 28-year-old former Northern Ireland Under-21 international put three past us last season, including one in each of the play-off semi matches.

  • Ten youth trainees are signed and an under-18 team entered in the SW Youth Alliance League after the return of a fully-fledge youth scheme at long last. Sponsors City Link Builders are heavily behind the project and Paul Compton is back at the club as joint manager of the scheme. Colin Lee said: "It's a fantastic day for Torquay United."

  • Kevin Nicholson played the full 90 minutes in the England C international in Grenada. The hosts took the lead in the first half but Steve Morison of Stevenage equalised in the second period and it finished 1-1.

  • And Crawley are apparently having a good look at Simon Rayner.
