ANOTHER FRIENDLY

There's another friendly to add to your diaries.
The Gulls will play away at Newton Abbot on Tuesday July 15 with a 7.45pm kick-off.
There's just over a week to go until the players come back in for pre-season training, and it is all begin to simmer nicely.
Player sponsorships are up for grabs over at www.torquayunited.com and some have been snapped up already. There is also a nice offer for sponsorships in the name of younger fans.
Go on, you know you want to...

Don't forget, you can bid for Hilly's Wembley shirt and raise some cash for Cancer Research at the same time.
The shirt will be auctioned at the Relay For Life event at Barley Park this weekend, an event that also includes a football match featuring an 'Exeter City Legends' side. Stop sniggering at the back...
Anyway, full details of the auction and a chance to get your hands on the shirt worn by a genuine Plainmoor legend are over at www.torquayunited.com

HILLY SAYS GOODBYE

Gulls record breaker Kevin Hill is leaving Plainmoor.
Hilly has signed for Dorchester in Blue Square South, but Torquay boss Paul Buckle is still hopeful that the man with the most Gulls appearances ever will still have a role to play as part of the Centre of Excellence coaching line-up.

Kevin will be missed by the Plainmoor faithful, who always warmed to his never-say-die attitude and his ability to get on the end of crosses that had been written off as lost causes by everyone else.

And it was a great goal in the play-off semi against Exeter, even if the final result didn't go our way.

Elsewhere, there are reports that Chris Zebroski has sealed a deal with League Two Wycombe Wanderers, and that Alex Russell has put pen to paper with League One Cheltenham Town.

Torquay still haven't given up hope of getting Chris Zebroski back into the squad for the coming season.
Paul Buckle and Colin Lee are both back from holiday today, so expect the transfer activity - in and out - to step up a notch.
A goalkeeper signing will be crucial, Hilly's future plans are still unknown, and there's still the riddle of Chris McPhee....
It's all in Monday's Herald Express and at http://www.thisissouthdevon.co.uk/

The league fixtures are out today, by the way. In the Championship Argyle start on August 9 at home to Wolves and in League Two Aldershot begin their league programme away to Accrington Stanley on the same day.
What? There's another team you're interested in?
They're away at Darlington on the opening day.

Thanks to everyone for the brainstorming session at the Occombe Farm Beer Festival over the weekend. An expert panel of Gulls fans gathered over several pints and made all the crucial decisions regarding the squad and the strongest team for the opening day. If anyone who was there can remember any of what we decided, please let me know...
